Computers vervangen mensen waar het kan, dus ook op de beurs. Een computer kan nu eenmaal sneller een analyse maken van grote hoeveelheden data, en sneller handelen.

Joris Luyendijk schrijft voor de Guardian het Banking Blog. In een serie posts die hij “voices of finance” noemt interviewt hij mensen uit de bankwereld. Een interview met een computerdeskundige laat goed zien hoe complex de technologie inmiddels geworden is, én wie of wat het verschil in de handel nu echt maakt. En dat is niet altijd de handelaar.
