Flickr interview

Social Classification - Wilbert on December 10, 2006 at 7:07 pm,

Hi, hypernarrative is a blog by Wilbert Baan about Art, Media and Technology with a focus on interactive storytelling. If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed with Google or Netvibes. I'll post a few messages a week. Thanks for visiting!

Inc.com is running an interview with the co-founders of Flickr, the godfather of web 2.0. I have never realized Yahoo bought it for approximately $30 million. Compared to MySpace and YouTube this is the social bargain of the century.

And how they started a trend for web 2.0 names? A domainname was taken.
… We tried to get “flicker” with an e, but the guy who had the Web domain wasn’t willing to give it up.

I really like the way Yahoo is slowly bringing design back into the web, for example the new Yahoo Witness, a usergenerated newswebsite with tips and lessons from Kevin Sites.

Oh, and what about the recently launched Yahoo Food.

Thanks for reading, you might also like
