Bloggers, Vloggers and the Pelé-brand

IHT writes about the brand Pelé and how the image and aura of the 65 year old legend will be monetized over the next years.

“…Ferreira predicted that the global Pelé business – of which Pelé will get an unspecified cut – will take in $30 million next year and as much as $100 million in 2008. There is no way that his estimates could be verified…”

Everything that makes a connection on some emotional level is – and can be exploited as – a brand. It’s not unlikely bloggers and vloggers will be the best known brands within ten years or so, for some – digital insiders – they already are. No matter if this brand will be a real-life person or virtual alterego.

The Amsterdam based Xolo.tv is on the right track to become one.
