3G mobiles ‘change social habits’

Mobile culture - Wilbert on March 23, 2006 at 6:10 pm,

Hi, hypernarrative is a blog by Wilbert Baan about Art, Media and Technology with a focus on interactive storytelling. If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed with Google or Netvibes. I'll post a few messages a week. Thanks for visiting!

A behavioural study found out that our social habbits are changing due to third generation mobile phones (3G).

In the news article is this remarkable description: Piratopians: Creative outsiders who use 3G phones to make short films and other broadcasts

Piratopian. A what? Is this a Pirate plundering an Utopian world by taking footage in barbarian ways? Well I have made short films/broadcasts with a 3G phone. Am I a piratopian? I think I’ll have to get myself a parrot and wooden leg then.
